About Us

Thistle Help Ltd was founded in 2007 by George Ruddick and Laura Hays in order to provide a comprehensive range of assisted living aids that truly reflects the needs of those who require support for care and mobility. We offer a range of services including sales, hire and repair of all mobility equipment including profiling beds, hoists, riser recliners, wheelchairs, mobility scooters, specialist seating and a wide range of daily living aids.

Having a disabled Managing Director, Thistle Help provide experience you can trust. George Ruddick our Managing Director has Cerebral Palsy and has filtered his experience down through the team giving them the tools to understand the needs of the customer. Our Team

We have a young dynamic team who always strive to provide the best service and products to customers in order to enhance their daily lives. Our team of eight staff have been with us for a number of years coming from various backgrounds including the care sector. This provides an all round knowledge of products, ensuring we assess customers requirements correctly. To find out more about our team please click here

Our Customers

We supply to the general public, nursing homes/residential care, local authority and we often get referrals from Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. We currently have a contract in place with North Ayrshire Council to service and repair the ASN equipment within their schools. Recently we have diversified into providing servicing and maintenance contracts to nursing homes for their moving & handling equipment.

Our Premises 

We operate from a large spacious showroom in Irvine, Ayrshire on the West Coast of Scotland. Our premises have accessible onsite parking, disabled toilet facilities and a service workshop.

Opening Hours:

Monday – Friday: 9am – 5pm 

Saturday: 9am – 4pm

Sunday: Closed

We are open Bank Holidays as normal and only closed from 23rd December until the first week in January
